Manna
Dey whose earliar name was Probodh Chandra Dey. He was born on 1st
may in 1919 in Kolkata. He was the child of Purna Chandra Dey and Mahamaya Dey.
Manna Dey studied at Scotish Church Collegiiate School and then Vidyasagar
College.
As a singer joint a singing compitation at
college function at the age of 18. At that moment his life started taking
lesson from his uncle Krishna Chandra Dey. In 1942, He left for Mumbai as the assist with his uncle.
In 1943 as a singer, He sang a song in hindi film of Tammanna and also he sang
a song in bengali film of Grihaprabesh in 1954. In 1955, he was married with
Sulochana and after sometimes he shifted to Bangalore in 2000. He got many
types of award like that Padmasree in 1971, Lata Mangeswar award in 1985,
Padmabhusan 2005, Dada Sahib Phalke in 2007 and Banga Bibhusan in 2011. As a
great singer breathed his last on the 24th October in 2013 and left
a vaccum in the music world.
So, like a
patriotic We could not forgotten him for his songs in the all world.
